Transferring files between computers can be a pain. Whether you are looking to send a file from one of your own computers to another, or you need to send a series of documents to someone else, the process can seem more complicated than it needs to be.
With AnySend, you can eliminate the need to attach files to emails, and simplify the upload-to-the-cloud-download-from-the-cloud idea that has become the norm.
The app brings drag and drop sharing to your Windows desktop, enabling you to share files of any size quickly and easily.
Head to the AnySend website and click the “Free Download” button to grab a copy of the software.
Once the file’s downloaded, run through the installation. There are no unusual settings to worry about here, so you can just race through the process in a couple of moments.
When you want to send one or more files to someone, it does not matter whether they are already an AnySend user; all you need is their email address.
If you look at the desktop, you’ll noticed that there is a large hotair balloon icon visible to one side of the screen – this is the widget that’s used to upload files.
Select and drag some files that you would like to send to someone (or yourself), and drop them onto the balloon widget icon.
The first time you do this, click the Gmail-style M icon to the upper right of the popup that appears to register an email address with the software. Enter your email address and click “Send”.
Wait for a confirmation email to be sent out to you, click the link it contains and you’re ready to continue using the app. This step is something you won’t have to do again, and once activation is complete, your selected files can be sent to someone.
Type the email address of the intended recipient (you can enter more than one if you like) and press “Enter”. Add a message if you want and click the “Send” button.
It’s as simple as that. The person or people you have opted to send files to will receive an email containing a download link.
Should you find that you are using a computer that you are unable to install software on, you can use the AnySend website to send files to another machine. Return to the AnySend website and you can drag and drop files onto the white area to the right of the page – you can also the “Browse” button if you prefer.
You’ll then be provided with a download link that can be copied and pasted into an email to send to anyone you want to share the files with.
Visiting the link gives the recipient the chance to down the files either directly from the AnySend website or by installing the app and downloading through the software.
That’s all there is to it – one of the easiest ways to share files, particularly when you’re working with large documents.
