More devices mean you can do more, right? Sadly, many routers can’t evenly distribute bandwidth between your numerous devices, especially when it comes to streaming and gaming. The Rock Space AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router is designed specifically to help ensure more unified Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home and for all your devices. I recently had the opportunity to test this router and it’s Wi-FI capability.
Overview of Features
The Rock Space AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router is made to give every connected device in your home its fair share of bandwidth. Typically, whoever connects first gets the best connection. This leaves anyone else who wants to stream or play games dealing with slower speeds.
Equipped with Wi-Fi 6, the router supports 802.11ax networks. This type of Wi-Fi is designed for more even concurrent connections and network distribution. This particular model supports households of up to eight users, while Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) typically only supports up to four users.

Setting Up the Router
The Rock Space AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router couldn’t be easier to set up. Everything you need to get started is included in the box. The Ethernet and power adapter are actually long enough to place the router in a more central location.
The quick start guide makes it easy to go from box to connected in just 5 to 10 minutes. Even if you’re completely new to setting up a home network, you’ll be able to set up the Rock Space router.
The first step is to download the RS WiFi app. The guide provides a QR code to scan and download the app in seconds.
Once downloaded, it’s time to connect the router to your network. If you already have a router, it’s a quick switch of the Ethernet cable. If not, simply connect your router to your modem using the provided Ethernet cable. Ideally, place the router in a central location in your home or up on a shelf. Raise the antennas for optimal performance.
Open the app and wait a few seconds for the app to recognize the router. Make sure your phone’s Wi-Fi is turned on for this. At first, when you connect to the Rock Space network that appears, you won’t have any connectivity, but the app helps you finish the setup.
Log in to the app using the login details in the guide.
Follow the prompts to finish setting up the initial network. It only took a few minutes for the entire process during my review.
You’ll also need to set up a password for your network. Depending on the type of network you already have, the network name and password may transfer over to the Rock Space router. Mine didn’t do that, of course, but that’s not a problem.
Once successfully set up, you should be able to start connecting devices. The entire process, including moving things around to get to my modem, only took around 10 minutes.
Testing Router Performance
I don’t have eight users in my home, so I can’t speak to how well the router handles the average usage for eight people at once. However, I did put the router to the test by having multiple devices streaming at once, which usually doesn’t work so well. Typically, after a couple TVs are streaming, I notice lagging and latency on my smartphone or if I try to play games online.
I started by testing my speeds on my current router, which is Wi-Fi 5 and another brand.
Then, I tested the Rock Space AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 Router in the same location in my home. I also had the same number of devices connected to gauge performance, which I’ll mention momentarily.
Surprisingly, I actually did get better speeds on my 2.4GHz band with the Rock Space router.
As far as device performance, I did experience a noticeable difference. With my previous router, whichever device I started first performed best. Performance on the others got consecutively worse based on the order I started with.
With the Rock Space router, I had a consistent experience across all devices. For devices further from the router, I had better performance overall, as my older router seemed to suffer from interference, especially with devices in my kitchen. I didn’t have any interference issues with the Rock Space router.
As another test, I have a smart TV and also like to stream music in a workshop that’s in my backyard. Typically, I can only watch OTA TV, as streaming isn’t an option. The Wi-Fi signal just doesn’t reach that far without a lot of buffering throughout a show. Music cuts in and out.

My 5GHz band (second image) was absolutely terrible. The 2.4GHz was ok, though.

The wider coverage and stronger signal strength finally made streaming in the workshop possible. It’s been a nice perk during my review.
