Chrome extensions can be really helpful, allowing you to add additional functionality to your browser. However, if you have installed many extensions, you might have a cluttered toolbar that looks messy and is harder for you to find what you want. Luckily, you can choose which extensions to pin to the Chrome toolbar and which ones to hide away in the extensions menu.
Pin Extensions to Google Chrome
Make sure you have the latest version of Chrome before you start.
1. Click on the “Extensions” button that looks like a jigsaw puzzle piece in the toolbar next to your profile avatar.
2. A drop-down menu will show you all the installed extensions that are enabled. These are divided into three categories: “Full Access,” “Access requested” and “No Access Needed.”
In this list, next to each extension, you’ll see a “pushpin” icon. This icon will either be blue or grey. If it’s blue, it means the extension is pinned to the Chrome toolbar. On the other hand, if it’s white, it means the extension is hidden.
3. Click on the pushpin icon to pin a Chrome extension in the toolbar. Click on the same icon again if you want to unpin an extension in the future. Alternatively, left-click on the extension to add it to the toolbar.
When you pin an extension, it will appear in the Google Chrome toolbar. That’s how you can make your Chrome extension icons visible. Find out how to manage extensions in the FAQ section below.
Fix: Chrome Extensions Disappeared from Toolbar
If your installed extensions are missing from the Extensions list, or you are unable to pin them, they might have been disabled. To re-enable them, go to chrome://extensions. Click on the grey toggle under the extension to enable them. The toggle will turn blue. Now click on the Extensions icon in the toolbar to see the extensions.
