Microsoft Issues Warning About Vaping and Xbox Series X

Gamers have been looking forward to the release of the Xbox Series X for some time. Now that it’s finally been released, it’s been hit with controversy with videos showing smoke billowing from it. This has led to Microsoft being forced to issue a warning to not intentionally blow vaping smoke into the Xbox Series X.

Xbox Series X and Vaping

The new Xbox console has only been available for a couple of days. It’s an exciting time for Xbox fans. Imagine their shock and dismay when opening social media or YouTube and finding videos of the tower-like console with smoke pouring out of the top of it.

Before it got completely out of control, Microsoft took charge of the situation. It issued a statement that said, “We can’t believe we have to say this, but please do not blow vape smoke into your Xbox Series X.”

Yes, that’s right. There are people who waited months for the release of the Xbox Series X, then intentionally blew vaping smoke into the console so that they could create videos they were hoping would go viral.

Viral Videos

To be honest, the idea of smoke billowing from a new device is not unheard of. Even Microsoft had to deal with the “Red Ring of Death” with the Xbox 360 years ago.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was released and put in many people’s hands only for them to begin catching fire, then be removed permanently from shelves. Even this week there is news that Ring Doorbells have been recalled over a potential fire hazard.

So the videos going around showing a smoking gaming console were very credible. It’s not explained how these viral videos were debunked. But somehow Microsoft realized that owners of the new Xbox Series X, that costs between $500 and $900, were intentionally blowing vaping smoke into them to create the videos.

Along with Microsoft, we need to also note that we can’t believe we’re issuing a warning either. But let’s just say that smoke, fire, vapor, and water are never good elements to have near your technology. The viral video you get out of it isn’t worth it.

And that’s not the only viral video about the Xbox Series. X. There is another one that shows a ping-pong ball suspended in midair over the Series X console. This has also been debunked. The fan is just not that powerful.
