At a time when many of us have been separated from our friends and family, we look to online communication to keep those social channels open. Group video chats, online pub quizzes and other online activities can’t ever match the real thing, but they sure help.
Group video chats on WhatsApp are one thing you can do to keep in touch with friends and family. In this article you will learn how to use it.
The first step to having a group video chat in WhatsApp is to start a one-on-one video call with someone. To do this in the WhatsApp app, tap the Calls tab, then the new call icon at the bottom-right corner.
Find the contact you want to start a video call with, click the green camera icon next to their name, and wait for the video call to start.
Once the call starts, click the icon at the top-right corner with the person’s outline and the “+” symbol, then select the next person you want to add to the group call. You can repeat this process for up to three people.
And that’s it! You’ve now set up a WhatsApp group video call, and you’re having a ball. If you want to goof around more on WhatsApp, then check out our favourite sticker packs for WhatsApp. Or, if you’re kind of over WhatsApp, then read our list of the best alternatives.
