Do You Take Any Security Measures to Secure Your PC?

Security is a big topic here at Make Tech Easier. We operate from a level of concern wanting to keep you and your machines safe. But is it important to you? Do you take any security measures to keep your PC secure?

There are so many things that can happen to your PC that you need to protect yourself against. Someone could steal it for one. It takes nothing to pick up a PC and take off with it. It’s even easier to steal a laptop. It’s also fairly easy for someone to hack their way into your PC to steal your personal and private information. The amount of devastation this could cause is immeasurable. It’s so easy to add security to your PC, that it’s an easy enough problem to take care of. There are even free solutions to do so.

Do you take advantage of the opportunity and keep your PC secure? Or do you have no worries that your PC will be stolen or hacked into for your private information? It’s just as easy to ignore the situation as it is to take care of it. What have you chosen to do?

I use Linux as my O/S. I minimize the sensitive transactions I do online. I do not use WiFi, only hard connections.
