How to Change the Default Game DVR Folder in Windows 10

In Windows 10 Microsoft introduced a new feature called Game DVR. Using this simple feature, you can quickly record your gameplay. After recording, you can save those videos for later use or share them on your favorite platform like YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Besides games, you can also use the Game DVR feature as a simple and quick screen recording software.

By default, videos recorded using Game DVR are automatically stored in the “Videos” folder on your C drive. Unless you only record your games occasionally or have a big enough C drive capacity, the video recordings will quickly fill up the system drive. This is especially true if you are using an SSD (Solid-State Drive) as your system drive. So if you don’t want to receive the infamous “Low Disk Space” warning, here’s how to change the default Game DVR captures’ folder location.

Changing the default Game DVR save location is nothing difficult. To start, open the File Explorer and navigate to “C:\Users\<username>\Videos.”

Here you will see a folder called “Captures.” This is the folder which is used by Game DVR to save the recorded gameplay or video. Right-click on the folder and select the option “Properties.”
