5 Browser Extensions to Customize Your Facebook Experience

If you are an avid Facebook user, you will be glad to know that there are a number of browser extensions that you can use to customize your social media surfing experience. These extensions let you do more than what you can do with the built-in functionalities of the platform.

In this week’s roundup we cover five Facebook browser extensions from our Software Discovery section that will let you manage Facebook more easily in your browser. While one extension will let you see your unread notifications count, another will help you isolate your Facebook activities. Let’s check them all out.

1. Facebook Notifier

Facebook Notifier is a browser extension that displays your unread Facebook notifications count.

  • Works in Chrome and Firefox

2. Facebook Demetricator

The Facebook interface is filled with numbers. These numbers, or metrics, measure and present social value and activity, enumerating friends, likes, comments, and more. Facebook Demetricator is a web browser addon that hides these metrics. No longer is the focus on how many friends you have or on how much they like your status, but on who they are and what they said.

  • Removes numbers from the Facebook website
  • Works in multiple browsers

3. Social Book Post Manager

Social Book Post Manager helps you delete your posts through the activity log, which include posts by you and by other persons/apps. You may specify filters for year, month, what the text contains, and what the text not contain.

  • Text filters support
  • Pre-scan activity log
  • Delete/hide/unhide/unlike/change privacy settings for posts

4. Facebook Container

Facebook Container works by isolating your Facebook identity into a separate container that makes it harder for Facebook to track your visits to other websites with third-party cookies.

  • Prevents Facebook from tracking you
  • Isolates your web activity from Facebook

5. Block Facebook

Block Facebook allows you to block all things Facebook which includes any web addresses associated with Facebook.

  1. To omit fbpurity.com from this article is a bad mistake. This one add-on improves Facebook in a totally customisable way, enables you to filter out posts to your needs, adjust the display width after removing ads etc etc.

I wouldn’t want to be without it on my laptop and No, I’m not connected with FBPurity other than as a happy user.
