How to Set Bing Images as Desktop Wallpaper and Lock Screen Background in Windows 10

Having a new wallpaper set every day on your desktop gives your system a fresh look. Though Windows 10 has the Spotlight feature which displays some gorgeous wallpapers on your lock screen, the feature is limited to the lock screen. If you want to save your favorite Spotlight wallpapers, there is no straightforward way to do so.

The Spotlight images come directly from Bing, and if you’ve ever seen the Bing wallpapers, you should know that they are pretty good. If you want to bypass the limitations of the Spotlight feature and want to automatically set a new bing wallpaper every day on your desktop and lock screen, then here is how you can do it with a free app in Windows 10.

Set a New Bing Wallpaper Every Day

To set a new Bing image as your wallpaper and lock screen background, we are going to use a free Windows app called Dynamic Theme. Head over to the Windows App Store to download the app.

After downloading, launch the app from the Start Menu. As you can see from the below image, the app’s user interface is rearly¬†simple. To start, select the “Background” option from the left pane, and then select the “Bing” option from the drop-down menu appearing under the “Background” section.

As soon as you select the option, the app will automatically fetch a new image from Bing and make it your new desktop wallpaper. If you didn’t see the new wallpaper on your screen, then simply click on the “Update Now” button to set the new wallpaper.

If you want to you can also preview the daily image by click on the “Preview of the daily image” button. From the preview window you can save the image by clicking on the save icon.

Moreover, if you like the image you see and want to set it as the default wallpaper for your desktop or lock screen, you can do so by clicking on the “Options” icon and then selecting the appropriate option. Remember that when you do this the background option you selected earlier will be changed from “Bing” to “One Bing Image,” which simply means that you will not get a new wallpaper every day unless you change the option manually.

The Lockscreen page also has the same settings as the Background page, so replicate the above process.

If you have multiple Windows devices, then toggling the “Synchronization” button will make sure that you will have those same wallpapers on all your devices.

The good thing about this app is that it lets you automatically save all the new Bing images. To do that head over to the “Daily Bing Image” page, and then toggle the button under “Autosave.”

The app also lets you choose the regional culture used to get the Bing images. This option allows you to see the wallpapers sourced from a specific country. You can select the source country or region from the drop-down menu under the “Source” section in the “Daily Bing Image” page.
