Yesterday I tried to download and install IE9 to test if my readers who use IE were being able to see my brand new favicon. Unfortunately, this caused a serious crash in my 6 month old desktop! Now I can’t open IE, nor Chrome (the browser I use) and I wasn’t successful at restoring my system to an earlier date, it simply didn’t work. I’m in Korea right now and we are in the beginning of are long holiday, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to have a technician come here to solve the problem before next week. Meanwhile, I’m using my laptop…. any thoughts?
You might want to try uninstalling IE 9 (http://maketecheasier.com/uninstall-internet-explorer-9-in-windows/2010/09/19) and see if you can restore the system back to its previous state
Things got so weird here that IE doesn’t appear on the list of installed programs ….
I can’t access the Internet (no browser running) :(
IE9 was installed as an update, not as an application. You can uninstall it by going to the “View Installed updates” in the Control panel. I have written in detail the procedure of uninstalling ie9 here (http://maketecheasier.com/uninstall-internet-explorer-9-in-windows/2010/09/19). Check it out.
Thanks for the tips! Unfortunately, I couldn’t find it there either…
